All Are Welcome at Saint Andrew

We don’t pretend we can walk in your shoes to know how you have come to where you are in life. We try not to judge, but rather open our arms to any who feel the spiritual calling to be closer to God and seeking sacred community.

What is the Episcopal Church

We believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God
We believe in following the teachings and life of Jesus Christ.
We believe that God loves you – no exceptions.

The Episcopal Church is part of The Anglican Communion which is part of the historical Christian and catholic faith.  If you visit and remain at St. Andrew, you may choose to enroll in our “Inquirer’s Class” offered twice a year.  The class is 8 weeks long and provides ample opportunity to explore all you wish about the rich tradition and ethos of the Episcopal Church.  You are also welcome to call for a personal appointment with our priest who loves to talk about these things!

Participating in the Service

First, relax and enjoy the service! It’s okay to participate at your level of comfort. Worship at Saint Andrew involves everyone throughout the service in song, prayer, listening to God’s word and taking communion (referred to as Holy Eucharist). Throughout the service you will see people kneel, stand or sit at specific times as we worship. If you have experienced liturgical worship before you will find our service familiar.  If you are unfamiliar with liturgical worship allow yourself something new and wonderful.  The people at St. Andrew will both welcome you and help you feel at home.

At the 8:00 AM service the the liturgy is read directly from The Book of Common Prayer and the music is selected from our Hymnal and directed by our organist.  At the 10am service an “easy-to-follow” worship booklet is printed and distributed to all in attendance.  The music is selected from various sources and directed by our chancel choir and communion music team.

Plan Your Trip

St. Andrew is across the street from Foster Park.  Ample parking is available in the church lot and on W. Superior Street.

You may plan to arrive 10 minutes early so you can find a place to sit and make yourself comfortable. Our services last an hour.  All visitors are invited to a Q&A session hosted by our priest from 9am to 9:30am every Sunday.

Children & Youth Participation

Families are encouraged to be together for worship.  We offer nursery care for infants and toddlers.  At the 10am service children ages 3-7 are invited to Children’s Church for the “sermon portion” of our service.  Materials are also provided for those who wish to remain with parent(s).  We are committed to being a place where families share sacred community together.
